HETLAND, Norman Johnny

Norman Johnny Hetland passed away suddenly on May 25, 2016 in Chilliwack at the age of 83. Norman was born in Saskatchewan on June 20, 1932 to Ole & Jenny Hetland. Norman leaves to mourn his wife of 20 years, Vivian; his step-children, Dale Toop and Wendy & Jon Mader, his treasured grandchildren, Geoffrey & Brittany Mader and Christopher & Breanna Mader; his brother, Ken (Shaaron) Hetland, his sister, Margaret (John) Munro, many nieces & nephews and their families

that he loved with his whole heart. Norman was predeceased by fi rst

wife Fern and his parents.

Norman grew up in Saskatchewan on his family farm and moved to BC in 1947 and worked on his family farm. Norman always had many stories about the farm and how much he loved to be outside. Norman left the family farm and went onto work for BCAI for 32 years until his retirement in 1988. Norman could tell you who owned which farm,

how many cows they had and pretty much anything you wanted to know about the farming community. During his retirement Norman loved to golf with his friends and had the most beautiful garden with rows and rows of potatoes.

Norman loved travelling with Vivian visiting 41 different countries

and he was always excited about the new adventures they would go on. Norman loved his grandsons and was always attending sports games, music recitals and going to church to hear Geoff sing and teaching Chris to drive. We were so thankful that our family was able

to travel to Mexico for a family vacation in November 2015 and that

Grandpa Norman was in his glory and said it was the "BEST TRIP

EVER".

Norman was a gentle, kind man who taught us all how to be better

people. Norman loved the Lord and we will fi nd peace in knowing

that his last day was spent loving his wife, loving his family and

playing his last golf game at Cheam Golf Course.
