Monique Jodi Brand went to be with the Lord on August 30, 2018 at her family home in Yarrow at the age of 19. She is lovingly remembered by her father and mother Roelof & Diane Brand and one sister Fiona. Monique was predeceased by her sister Danielle and brother Jeremy.
Monique was born at Children's Hospital in Vancouver. She was diagnosed with Fanconi Anemia and later in life she was diagnosed with a liver disease. She was not expected to live into her teens, but we were blessed to have her in our lives for almost twenty years. Her kind heart, infectious smile, zest for life and passion for fashion will be forever remembered.
Monique had a special place in her heart for animals, spending many hours training her Jack Russel dogs. God gifted her with a special talent for art and we were blessed to open up her store "Monique's Unique Gifts" to display and sell her art work.
We are grateful for the doctors and staff at Children's Hospital and a special thank you to Dr. John Wu who went above and beyond his calling for being there every step of the way. Dr. Wu connected us with Canuck Place who were angels walking along our side. We will forever remain thankful to God for placing you in our lives and experiencing God's nearness.
Visitation for family and friends was held on Tuesday, Sept. 4 from 7pm to 9pm at Woodlawn Mt. Cheam. Graveside Service was at 10am on Wed., Sept. 5 at Vedder View Gardens Cemetery followed by a Celebration of her Life at 1:00pm at Yarrow Canadian Reformed Church, 42285 Yarrow Central Road, Yarrow.
