September 29, 1946 - April 20, 2024
With heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of Michael (Mike) O'Connor. He was born September 29, 1946 in Low, Quebec and passed away April 20, 2024.
Mike leaves to mourn his loving wife Emma of 53 years and his three children. Sons Faron, Gary and daughter Nancy (Kevin) and granddaughter Taya.
Also his brothers Robert (Donna), Gilbert (Hazel), Barry (Heather), Philip (Paulette). As well as numerous special nieces and nephews and other family members and numerous friends.
Mike is predeceased by his parents Austin and Monica, sister Aurelie, brothers Gerard (Janice) and Francis (Janice).
Mike spent 33 years in the Canadian Armed Forces in the military engineers and the 192 AEF Abbotsford. His career gave him the opportunity to live all over Canada and Europe before finally settling down into retirement in Chilliwack.
Everyone knew that Mike loved the Montreal Canadiens and Chilliwack Chiefs of which he was a long time supporter and season ticket holder.
Emma would like to thank everyone who visited, called and prayed for Mike. It was so greatly appreciated. She would also like to thank Doctor Jones and Doctor Rose and all the staff of Chilliwack General Hospital and Valleyhaven retirement community.
Services will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion branch 295 on Vedder Road on Monday May 6, 2024 at 12:30 pm.
