September 12, 1940 - February 24, 2024
Mary Derksen passed away peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Feb 24, 2024 at the age of 83.
She was born to David and Justina Wiebe on Sept 12,1940 in Winkler, Manitoba, but spent most of her years in BC. In 1960 she married Peter Derksen and for the past 60 years she lived in Chilliwack with her family.
She was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and a loyal friend.
Mary enjoyed helping Peter on the farm, gardening, serving in her church and spending time with family and friends.
Mary is lovingly remembered by her children John (Chery), Ivy (Dave) Riediger, Barb (Brian) Thiessen, Steve (Gail), 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Also remembered by sisters Agnes (Merv) Dyck, Susan (Dennis) Foyle, sister in laws Susanne and Ilene.
Mary was predeceased by her husband Peter in 2021, 2 older brothers, and 2 stillborn granddaughters.
Graveside service will be held at Greendale Cemetery on Saturday March 9th at 44675 Watson Rd, Chilliwack, at 9:45 a.m. followed by a Celebration of Life Service, beginning at 11:00 a.m. at the Greendale MB Church at 6550 Sumas Prairie Rd, Chilliwack.
