Passed away at home after a long illness bravely fought. Mary was a primary teacher and taught in Orkney and Aberdeen before immigrating to Canada in 1967. She taught with passion and devotion in Surrey BC where her cheerful disposition and sense of humour were enjoyed by students and coworkers alike. She loved dancing and travel; fun and adventure was found around every corner. Mary was devoted to her family and we loved our “Gagoo”. She leaves behind a daughter, Grace, grandchildren Moira and John, brother Stuart (Jean), stepchildren Joanne, Susan, Wayne, and Gary and their children, our good friend Jack, as well as many family in Scotland and friends everywhere. Mary will be missed by all those whose lives she touched; her perseverance against adversity is an example to us all. A memorial service will be held at 2:30 pm on November 16th 2012, at the Carmen United Church, 7258 Vedder Rd, Chilliwack, BC. Donations are welcomed to the Chilliwack SPCA.
