The family of Margaret Anderson wishes to share the news of her death on the morning of January 28, 2024, at Chilliwack General Hospital, after a brief illness. In the midst of our grief, there is gratitude for her release from the certain loss of her independence, and the pain and frustration of her failing body.
We feel blessed to have experienced the gift of her deep love for her family, friends, and her church community.
Margaret is mourned by her devoted daughter, Margot Dyble (Dave), grandchildren Dylan (Felicia) and Christopher Anderson, Adam Dyble (Holly), Shannon Miller (Rick), seven great grandchildren, and many treasured friends.
Margaret was predeceased by her parents, her husband Rev. Arthur Anderson, and her son Tim Anderson.
She was a devoted wife, loving mother, doting Nana and GG, and a loving and loyal friend.
Margaret was an active member of Carman United Church, serving on various committees of its Board, and keeping busy as a member of the UCW, and church choir.
Margaret came to Chilliwack in 1981 with her husband, who had accepted a call to be Minister at Carman United Church. Margaret continued to work as the Pharmacist for the Mental Health Boarding Home Program for the district of Surrey.
Tired of the long commute to Surrey, Margaret gratefully accepted the offer of a Pharmacist position at Nelmes' Pharmacy in Chilliwack, where she worked, happily, until her retirement.
After retirement, she kept busy with her garden, her growing family, and found good friendships in the Probus Club of Chilliwack, and in dabbling in the hobby of genealogy with a group of like-minded ladies.
A Memorial Service and Celebration of Life will be held at Carman United Church on Saturday, March 2 at 2pm, followed by a reception in the church hall. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Carman Memorial Endowment fund, or to Carman United Church, or to a charity of your choice would be most appreciated.
