Dec 29, 1934 - Jan 16, 2018
It is with great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Margaret (Etta) Lawson Hryciw.

She is survived by children Brian (Wendy), Deborah and Barry (Stacey); seven grandchildren, Kimberly (Jamie), Blake (Stephanie), Kaylin (Graham), Kathryn, Jordyn, Camryn, Brody; and

two great grandchildren Jack and Henry.

Etta was predeceased in May of 2012 by her loving husband Henry, after 56 years of marriage. They met during Henry's post in Vanderhoof, BC, where Etta was born and raised. As the wife of an R.C.M.P. member, Etta supported Henry throughout his career and various (sometimes remote) postings across British Columbia.

Etta always enjoyed camping, crafting, curling, cottage living on Fraser Lake and watching the Canucks - her favourite hockey team. Her kind and cheerful personality meant that she made many friendships in the various communities, curling clubs and church groups she joined throughout her life travels.

Etta loved her home in Chilliwack. Since moving to town in 1974, she enjoyed gardening and keeping her yard in immaculate condition. Etta's happiest moments were when her home was full of family, friends and laughter. She will always be remembered as the loving head of the house that was always making sure everyone was comfortable and fully fed. Etta will be truly missed by all that knew her.

A service in Etta's honour will be held on Friday, January 26, at 2 pm at the Chilliwack United Church, located at 45835 Spadina Ave.

In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Society of BC.
