Lorraine Genevieve Bishop

Lorraine Genevieve Bishop passed away peacefully at the age of 98, on December 28th at the Chilliwack General Hospital. Lori was born on a small family farm just outside of Pierson, Manitoba. At 15, she moved to Winnipeg to live with an aunt and uncle while attending high school. They relocated to Vancouver where Lori started her career. It wasn't long before she met her husband Doug, and they began their life together. They had 3 children: Larry, Don, and Linda. The family lived in Duncan, Mission, Abbotsford, Chilliwack and Vancouver. They relocated to Winnipeg in 1964 where they spent 21 years, retiring to Chilliwack in 1985. After Doug passed away in 2008, she moved into the Auburn Residence. She lived a long, happy life, with her children coming by to visit frequently. A more positive, gracious person could not be imagined. Her many dear friends and family will miss her greatly but were lucky to have had her in their life. Her motto: Go out, enjoy life, and never miss an opportunity. Lori will be lovingly remembered by her children Larry (Sharon), Don (Julie), and Linda; her grandchildren, Lara, Carmen, Kerri, Cory, Jarrett, Brennan, Breanne, Allyn, Saxon; her great grandchildren, Cole, Gabriella, Aubrey, Riley, Mason, Ethan, Jaime, Jorja, Brooklyn, and her great, great grandchild, Averi. The family will have a celebration of life at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 28th in the Community Clubhouse located at 45900 South Sumas Road, with a reception to follow, by invitation only. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
