Lawrence Rudolph Belter

Lawrence (Larry) Belter of Chilliwack, BC, graduated to heaven on October 19, 2017 at Mission Respite 'TRIM' facility at the age of 90 years.

He was predeceased by his parents August and Alvena, brothers, Charles, Edwin, Frederick, Bernard, sister Esther and his first wife Laura.

He was survived by his sister Doris Bjornson from Saskatoon, his wife Lorraine, daughter Jane (Dan), grandchildren Karyn, Steven, Denise (Aidan), great grandchildren Max, Aisla, and Andre. Also survived by stepchildren Chris (Tanya), Raelene and Sheldon (Kelly), step grandchildren Taylor, Noah, Paige, Tharyn, Ayden and many nieces and nephews.

Larry grew up in Rush Lake, Saskatchewan completing his High School and began work with the Canadian Pacific Railway as a station agent in Evesham, Sk.

He terminated his association with the CPR in 1956 and moved to California with his family, working with the Southern Pacific Railroad and later became involved in the trucking industry managing terminals.

He returned to Canada in 1969, where he purchased a small cartage company in Vancouver, residing with his family in Coquitlam, BC. In the following years, he became involved with several different trucking companies either in partnerships, or as director of sales until his retirement in 1990.

Larry enjoyed travelling, watching sports, golfing, fishing, attending Chiefs hockey games, spending time in Arizona and California during the winter months. He was known as a "Mr. Fix It" ... helping others when he could.

A celebration of life will be held at Chilliwack Alliance Church, 8700 Young Road on Friday, November 3 at 2:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Camp Kawkawa Society.
