MORRIS, Kevin James

It is with deep sadness we announce that our beloved son Kevin lost a courageous battle to cancer on September 18, 2016. True to his nature he maintained a positive spirit to the end. Kevin was born in New Westminster on April 28, 1980 and spent his early childhood years in Sooke and Ladysmith, BC until his family moved to Chilliwack, BC in 1991. He attended Tyson Elementary, graduated from Sardis Secondary, and earned a diploma in Criminal Justice at UCFV. After graduating in 2002 from RCMP training at Depot in Regina, SK., he was posted to Surrey Detachment for 7 years and then transferred to Upper Fraser Valley Regional Detachment, residing in Chilliwack until his death. He was promoted to the rank of Corporal on August 5th of 2016. Kevin is survived by his best friend and partner Tara Simpson, his son Josh Lamb, his loving parents Ken and Bernadine Morris, sister Lindsay Parrott (Aaron) and niece Venice, and his sister Kimberly Morris. Also, his birth family Louise Hanson (Ron), Don Finnbogason (Shelly), brother Ryan Finnbogason (Jessica) and nephew Keenan, sister Alana Finnbogason, Larry Finnbogason and many uncles, aunts and cousins, numerous friends and work colleagues. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, September 23, 2016 at the Alliance Church 8700 Young Rd at 1:00 pm. In lieu of floral tributes, if so desired a donation may be made to the Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada for cancer research.
