It is with deepest sadness we announce the passing of Kenneth Grant Metcalfe on Monday August 1, 2022 at the age of 89.
Born February 7, 1933 in Watson Saskatchewan to James and Echo Metcalfe, Ken was the 4th child of 5. The family moved out to BC when Ken was 6 making Chilliwack home. When he was young he enjoyed playing basketball softball, but most of all he loved riding horses.
During his life Ken worked at logging in a variety of jobs, a log barge loader operator for Rivtow, and finally he started his own business JK Truck & Crane, which is still ran in the family today. Along the way he met Jean Gordon and they were married in 1964. In 1966 their only child Grant was born.
Ken enjoyed camping in the BC backcountry, trips to Arizona, fishing and gardening, But most of all he loved being around family and friends.
Ken is survived by his loving wife of 58 years Jean, son Grant (Laura), grandchildren Madison and Mitchell. 'Uncle Ken' also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
Ken was predeceased by his parents James and Echo, sisters Alice, Margaret, Isabelle and brother Jim.
A joint family Celebration of Life with Ken's nephew Ron Johnson to be held at a later date.
