Kareen Janveaux

December 4, 1937 - January 26, 2023
It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of our Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt and Dear friend Kareen Janveaux. She passed away peacefully on January 26th in Chilliwack, BC.
Kareen is lovingly remembered by her daughter Kelly Velonis (George), son Bill Janveaux, grandchildren, Shaun McAra (Alison Omelus) Steven McAra, Brandon and Connor Janveaux.
Predeceased by her husband Marcel Janveaux in 2004.
Kareen lived a very full and interesting life, born in Sudbury Ontario on December 4th, 1937, moving to BC with her husband Mert and 2 children in 1973.
She quickly made Chilliwack her home and raised her two children here with her husband. Kareen was involved in the Branch 4 Legion and the Chilliwack Anavets 305 for over 25 years. She was part of a project in 1984 with the Chilliwack Museum called the "Aural History Project."
She worked at the Chillibowl Lanes for 29 years as the Controller and for the Chilliwack Anavets as bookkeeper before retiring in 2010. Kareen believed that by giving her time, energy, and talent to causes and community initiatives she was making her community better. There are many in the community that have been the recipient of her giving spirit.
Kareen was a cancer "warrior" and she never let her illness get in the way of her living and loving those around her. She lived her life with grace and a true zest for life and made all those who knew her feel special and loved.
A Celebration of Life will be on February 19th at 1 pm, at the Chilliwack Anavets - 46268 Yale Rd in Chilliwack BC.
