It is with broken hearts that the Family of Kai Holmsborg advise that Kai passed away on July 15, 2022 at the Cascade Hospice. Kai was born in Denmark and in August 1955 he started a new life in Canada.
He settled in Montreal, QC where he met and married the love of his life, Josie. They recently celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary.
In 1973, Kai and his family moved from Ontario to B.C. Kai was very active with the Canadian Power and Sail Squadron where he was a Commander and an Instructor for which he was awarded a Life membership.
Kai had a love for traveling throughout the world but especially loved his days boating and RV'ing with his wife, kids and grandchildren. Kai was very proud of his family.
He will be missed by his son Mark Holmsborg (Sharon) and daughter Kirsten Heaney (Mike) along with his grandchildren Jessica Campbell (Blair), Makenzie Frid (Erik), Spencer Holmsborg and Devin Brandreth (Rachael).
Kai's family would like to thank Dr. Quentin Smith for his care and compassion over the last 20 years. Also, the staff at Cascade Hospice for their wonderful care during his final days.
Kai requested that there be no service but that his ashes be scattered up Howe Sound at a later date. He also asked that if anyone wishes to make a donation to Cascade Hospice in Chilliwack it would be appreciated.
