Joyce Norrish passed away peacefully on March 5, 2010 at Chilliwack General Hospital, at the age of 71 years.
Joyce was born in Toronto, Ontario. She moved to B.C. with her parents and graduated from Chilliwack High School. She met Bert in 1953 and they married in 1957. They had their family. She was creative, enjoyed knitting and sewing and was a 4-H leader with the Jersey Club for 6 years. She enjoyed fishing trips, going to Las Vegas, Reno, on cruises, and tea parties with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed cooking and baking.
Joyce will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 53 years, Roy Albert Norrish; daughters Terry (Jim) Dick and Patti Schellenberg; son Gerry (Anita) Norrish; grandchildren Ashley (Adam) Zimmer, Alistar, Selena, Lacey, Laura, Nevada, Clayten and Mitchell; great-granddaughter Brooklynn; and sister Barbara (Bert) Bowler. She was sadly predeceased by her parents Marjorie and Elmer Percy; and her brother Bob Duthie.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, March 13, 2010, at Woodlawn Mt. Cheam Funeral Home, 45865 Hocking Avenue, Chilliwack, BC, with Reverend Judith Stark officiating.
Memorial donations may be made in Joyce’s name to The Canadian Cancer Society, 9136 Young Road, Chilliwack, BC V2P 4R4.
