September 9, 1980 - February 27, 2023
The family of Joseph Michael Dyck is heart-broken to announce his sudden and unexpected passing on February 27,2023.
Joe was born in Chilliwack on September 9, 1980. In his childhood years, Joe enjoyed the typical childhood pleasures of bike-riding, swimming, and hanging out with his friends. As a young adult Joe felt the draw to move to Calgary where he spent several years before moving back to Chilliwack.
In his late 20's, Joe moved to Nova Scotia with the goal of buying a home that was more affordable than what was offered in BC's high priced housing market.
Eventually he came back to Chilliwack where he remained until his final days.
Joe was known for his love of the outdoors, mostly gravitating to special areas that were off the beaten path.
He was an NFL super-fan and would often cheer on his favourite team, the LA RAMS. As well, Joe was noted for his exceptional cooking skills. He crafted many meals that would rival that of any high-end restaurant.
Most of Joe's career involved holding Management positions with Bell Canada/Virgin Mobile. His co-workers became like an extended family to him.
Joe's greatest treasures were his children. The time spent with them will live on in their memories.
Joe is survived by his children: Connor, Parvati, and Micah ( and "bonus" children, Harley and Ava); his parents, Dan and Debbi Dyck; his brother, John ( Jody ) and nephews Silas, Hayden and Riley; his brother, Jeremy ( Deanna ) and nephews Jeremiah, Knightley, and Balian; and his grandmother, Eileen Perry.
Joe was predeceased by his infant daughter, Madison; maternal grandparents, John and Daphne Janzen; paternal grandfather, Jack Dyck; and biological grandparents, Belle Wood and Alexander Sutherland.
The family is overwhelmed by the many of acts of kindness and support that have been given during this difficult time.
