Joe Skillen passed away in Chilliwack on September 15, 2005 at the age of 86 years. He was born in Drumheller, Alberta on April 6, 1919.
Joe is survived by his loving family, wife Hilda and children; Karen Lovett, Joseph John Skillen, Sandra Joanne Korleski, Rosemary (Don), Julianne (Earl), Annette (George), Edwin (Diana), Michelle (Albert) and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Also survived by two sisters, Tilly DuPont and Inez Moore and many nieces and nephews and close friends.
Public viewing will be held on Tuesday, September 20, 2005 from 7:00 pm to 9:00 at Henderson’s Funeral Home. Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, September 22, 2005 at 1:30 pm from the Greendale Mennonite Brethren Church, 6550 Sumas Prairie Road, Chilliwack, B.C. with Rusty Reimer officiating with a tea following in the Church hall.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to Spinal Cord Research Foundation.
