Wiens; Johnny. October 18, 1928 - December 31, 2013. It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.

Johnny was predeceased by his parents and siblings, Violet, Harry, Ben, Mandy, Lydia. Also predeceased by his son Greg in 2007. Survived by his loving wife Hilde; children Barb (Mike) Roseboom, Cathy Forrieter, Beverly Wiens and Bruce Wiens; grandchildren Amanda (Gord) Burton, Evan Roseboom, Corey, Emily and Jordan Forrieter; great granddaughter Roseanna Burton. Also survived by his sisters Mary and Helen and brother Chuck. Johnny was born in Winkler, Manitoba, one of nine children. He moved to Adams Road, Greendale in 1946. He met and married Hilde in 1953. They lived in Chilliwack ever since raising their five children. He worked for many years as an electrician. He built the Malibu Motel, the Parkwood Motor Inn as well as apartments and houses. He raised and showed Arabian horses for many years. When he tired of the electrical business his love of life led him to gold mining in Arizona for a few years. When he came back he worked at Cherry Ford for many years. He golfed every chance he got. He was not one to sit still so when he retired he took up painting and photography. He was a generous and caring man. Always willing to help anyone in need. We would like to thank the staff of Chilliwack General hospital for their excellent care of dad over the last two months.

A celebration of life service will be on Monday, January 6, 2014 at 1:30pm at the Alliance Church, Young Rd. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Juvenile Diabetes Foundation.Woodlawn Mt. Cheam Funeral Home 45865 Hocking Ave., Chilliwack, BC V2P 1B5 604-793-4555
