Late of Chilliwack, Johanna passed away at the Chilliwack General Hospital at the age of 82 years. Johanna was predeceased by her husband Albert in 2004, and brothers Jan Hendrick (1953) and Leonard (2016).
She will be sadly missed by her children: Marion (Eric) Van Maren, Elaine (Bernard) Klop, Cora (Alfred) van den Brink and Theresa (John) Romeyn.
She is survived by eighteen grandchildren, forty seven great grandchildren, siblings (Gerda Kooyman), Jake (Sanderina) Kooyman, Coba (Lies) Van Klei, and brother and sister-in-law Gerrit (Sally) Verwoert. Johanna was born in Nieuwerkerk, The Netherlands. After the big flood in 1953, she moved to Chilliwack with her family.
Johanna and Albert were married in 1957, and they dairy farmed until 2004. Over the years she enjoyed many activities - quilting, knitting, and gardening. Spending time with her family was her main joy.
The family would like to thank the staff at Sunset Manor Care Home for their loving care of Mom during the last four weeks of her life.
Also thanks to the Chilliwack General Hospital Emergency Room staff for their compassionate care of our dear mother.
The Funeral Service was held on Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at 10 am at the Reformed Congregation in North America Church at 48948 Yale Road East, Chilliwack, BC. Rev. M. Krijgsman officiated. Burial
