Joan Reimer, 84, of Yarrow B.C. died unexpectedly on November 2, 2022 at Abbotsford Regional Hospital and Cancer Center, as a result of complications following surgery.
She was born on October 9, 1938 in Vancouver, daughter of John and Winnifred Hickling.
Joan was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt grandmother and great-grandmother.
Left to grieve in profound sadness are George, her husband of 66 years, sons Michael of Calgary (Brigida) and David of Sardis (Krista), grandchildren Brittney (Eric), Kayleen (Danny) and Meghan. Great-grandchildren Linden, Jax and Heidi. Also left to mourn are sister Barbara and brother Richard and other nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents Joan was predeceased by sons Gregory and Carl and daughter Irene.
She spent most of the entirety of her work life in the Chilliwack area, starting at the CIBC bank in Vedder Crossing, then at Kerkhoff Construction before she capped off her career at Sears. She was a dedicated employee who was well-liked by her colleagues.
Joan had a variety of interests, talents and loved to travel. She enjoyed trips to Hawaii and for many years join her husband on month long winter getaways to Mexico.
Her artistic flair was evident in the many paintings and sketches. She enjoyed playing golf, scrabble and crossword puzzles. She is dearly missed.
