(nee MacPherson)

Janet Finnsson (nee MacPherson), born July 31, 1923 in Raymond, Washington and died Nov. 18, 2008.

Janet was raised by her maternal grandmother Janet MacPherson and her uncle Ross MacPherson.

Predeceased by her husband Albert in 2005.

Survived by her daughter Kristal (Kit Polley) and son Alec (Joan) Finnsson; grandchildren: Shawn (Shelley) Kristine, Sarah, Nils (Zolynne Sykut) Erica and Kristen; great-grandchildren: Cooper, Tessa, Cohen and Keaton. Special friends: Pat, Pam and Graden Paulhus.

Janet and Ab were married 60 years. Din, as dad and close friends called her, was a vivacious lady who had sparkle in her eye.

Mom was a designer at heart! She always had decorating

and/or house design ideas that were “ahead of her time”.

She had great hats, marvelous dresses and OH the evening dresses she had designed for her... ooh la la! Most of the time, the parties were always at Ab and Janet’s house, with a live band (friends and relatives, with Alec on the drums) to dance with or have “sing-a-longs”. I think Alec and I were the only kids on the block who knew all the words to “Bicycle Built for Two”. Mom also taught all of the kids to swim... and Rock N’ Roll!

Nannie was well known for the large “Glitzy” eye glasses that she wore.

In later years she would wear the glasses half way down her nose so she could both read and see all of us at the same time.

Since she was only 4’10”, most of the family was taller than she was, and if you were misbehaving and she caught you, you definitely got the “Nannie Raised Eyebrow Look”. You then knew that you were in big trouble!

Nannie we love you and we will miss you dearly. We know that you are in heaven, kicking up your heels with those “sling a lat’r” high heel shoes and loving being with dad. Te amo

No funeral by request. If desired, memorial donations may be sent to the Cancer Society.
