February 24, 2021
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Jim Davis, unexpectedly yet peacefully in his home on February 24, 2021 at the age of 79.
Jim had 4 brothers. He was predeceased by Chuck, Robert, Harry, and is survived by Tom (Vicky) Davis. He will be missed by his daughter Carla Tizzard, and son-in-law Kyle Tizzard, grandchildren Brandon and Ashley Tizzard, grandpet Rosco, and sister-in-law Glynis Davis.
Dad was born and raised in Chilliwack. He lived a simple life. No cell, no computer, no internet. He loved sports! Watched them all, and played many himself. In his younger years he played in the WHL for the New Westminster Bruins, and was one of the top bowlers in BC.
In his early teens he worked at the Fashion Bakery. Then onto a 25 year career with the Liquor Board. After that, he worked for the Chilliwack School District as a Casual Custodian for several years, then became the care taker of his apartment building.
I want to thank All the tenants in my dads building for being his extended family, and to everyone who took the time to talk hockey with my dad. Brandon & Ashley were my Dads world. They loved coming home after school to Grampa's freshly baked Chocolate Chip Oatmeal cookies. He was a devoted Grampa and loved watching them play their sports. Dad will be remembered for being a hardworking man, and always having a pen in his pocket.
In lieu of a service, please raise your glass and remember the good times.
Until we meet again Dad
