Born in England, February 20, 1917. Passed away peacefully on July 23, 2006 at Chilliwack General Hospital. Predeceased by wives Florence, and Eve; sister Doris. Survived by sister, Vera Green, and by loving children Gary (Sharron), Diane Erickson, and Janis (Dennis) Fuhr, elevan grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren. Bert will be missed for his loving devotion and mischievious sense of humour.
Bert joined the regular RCAF in 1939, serving along BC’s west coast, the Aleutian Islands, then in Europe. Bert retired in the 1960’s. He lived in the Arbutus and East Bourlevard area of Vancouver, then spent his last 15 years welcoming family and friends at his farm in Chilliwack, BC.
Special thanks to the wonderful staff of Glenwood Care Centre in Agassiz for providing a happy and caring environment for Bert and his family during Bert’s last two years.
Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial service on Friday, August 4th at 1:00pm at Ryerson United Church 2195 W. 45th Avenue at Yew, Vancouver. Reception to follow.
