Many of us lost a great friend on February 1st 2020 as Jackson Donald Buxton passed away from cancer.
D o n w o r k e d for 35+ years for the Department of Fisheries and Oceans. The last 20 years of which he served as the manager of the Chilliwack River Salmon Hatchery. It was a job he loved and lived. He was a man of character who worked hard and earned the respect of those he worked with.
As a lifelong fisherman he considered himself fortunate to be able to spend as much time as he did on the waters of the Vedder/Chilliwack, the Thompson and the Fraser Rivers. Each year as the days got longer he could be found camping and casting flies to rising rainbows on Sheridan and Peterhope Lakes. For the past 20 years when Donna forced him to southern
California for warmth and golf, Don fished there too!
Don is deeply missed by his wife Donna, sons Christopher, Wayne and Michael as well as his grandchildren, Samantha, Sean, Caitlin and Deianna and great grandson Rowan, his sister Lynn and brother Gerry. He was predeceased by his brother Kenny.
No service by request, but we know Don would have greatly appreciated donations in his memory to the Canadian Cancer Society.
