Jack Kerr, 92, died peacefully Friday, November 4, 2011 at Abbotsford Regional Hospital following a brief illness.

He leaves his wife of 68 years, Dorothy (Woolley) Kerr; his youngest brother, Doug; his daughter, Mary Ann; three sons, Harold (Shirley), Brian, Gord (Lynda); seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his grandson Chris in 1989.

Born and raised in Matsqui, the son of George and Blanche (McCallum) Kerr, he was a lifelong resident and pioneer of the Chilliwack/Abbotsford areas.

Jack helped out in the family Matsqui co-op store growing up, worked assembling planes during WWII and went to his own automotive dealership, Westgate Motors, in Chilliwack from the beginning of 1950 to the mid 70’s.

Jack had a lifelong passion for cars and was truly car crazy. He also had a love for animals and later in life turned to raising Fraser Reds on their acreage on Sumas Mountain.

No service by request, a Memorial gathering for the family is being planned for the spring.
