Friends and family of Hylda Law regret to announce that she passed away on October 5th. Her November birthday would have welcomed her 99th year. Hylda spent her early years in Manitoba where she graduated with a nursing degree in 1941. Her nursing skills led her to care for World War II casualties in Winnipeg. She then traveled to Prince Rupert and met Dr. Choon Law. They married in Christ Church Cathedral, Vancouver, 67 years ago. The couple made their home in Sardis where Dr. Law looked after TB patients in Coqualeetza Hospital until its closure.
Hylda will be remembered by her lace club where she was a member since 1958. She was the most experienced of the group, created beautiful projects and encouraged others.
Hylda is survived by her husband, Dr. Choon Law, age 104, and his many family members. She is also survived by cousins Frank Walker of Corona Del Mar, California and Stuart Walker of Saskatoon.
Hylda was thankful for the home care she received from Nurse Next Door and she became very fond of her care aids. She was also grateful for home visits from Dr. Krueger.
