He was born on April 6, 1923 to Peter and Tina Warkentin in Gortschakowo, Ufa in Russia. During a difficult immigration from Russia when he was 3 years old, his mother and sister died. He pastored for over 30 years in churches in Leamington, Ontario, Chilliwack, BC, Watrous, Saskatchewan and Starnberg, Germany.
After his wife Helen died, he married Nettie Tiessen in 1992. Together they continued to serve the Lord until he passed away on July 22, 2107.
