With deep sadness and heavy hearts the family of Gordon Norrish wish to announce his passing on April 26, at Chilliwack General Hospital with daughter Shirley by his side.
Gordon was born in Strongfield, Saskatchewan on May 16, 1920. He just missed his 102nd birthday.
A WW II veteran; Sergeant Gordon Norrish proudly spent 25 years in the Royal Canadian Air Force as a Flight Engineer on the Hercules C-130. He was based in Germany, Sea Island and Edmonton before his retirement in 1970. We thank him for his service.
He moved to Kaleden, BC. where he worked for The City of Penticton until his retirement.
He was predeceased by his mother Ethel, dad John, sister Helen, three wives Belle, Luise, Esther, son John, stepson Karl Pruesse, son-in-law David Paterson, son-in-law Sonny Dobay, grandson Cliff Hedberg, two granddaughters Karen & Theresa.
Survived by his children Shirley (Doug), Max (Joyce), Alf (Marlene), Sonya, many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and nieces & nephews.
He was able to stay in his apartment thanks to the care received by Hero Home Care, Fraser Health, his daughter Shirley, granddaughter Darcy and his friend and neighbor Darlene. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
