It is with heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved husband, father and grandfather, surrounded by family, at his home on Saturday October 10, 2020.
Gordy was predeceased by his brother Benjamin (Ben), brother-in-law William (Bill) Robinson, brother in law Rudy Enns, and lovingly remembered by his brothers John (Ruth), Victor (Linda), Bruno (Lorraine), Clarence (Susan), sister Blondina (Henry), sister-in-law Heidi Robinson (nee Trussel), loving wife Sandy, son Jeff (Danielle), granddaughter Amber-Lynn (Sean) and numerous nieces and nephews.
Gordy was born at home in Greendale and attended school in Chilliwack where he met and later married his wife of 60 yrs Sandy Hooge (nee Robinson).
Later moving to the Greater Vancouver area and then transferring to Vancouver Island in 1977. They then relocated back to Chilliwack in 1999 to care for ageing parents.
Gordy always enjoyed an active lifestyle including sports, camping, hunting and fishing. Gordy and Sandy also enjoyed international travel, cruising, wintering in Arizona and adventures travelling around in their 5th wheel. He was a valued volunteer member of The United Way, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, and the Chilliwack Fish and Game Club. A memorial bench is being placed on the Rotary Discovery Trail on the Vedder River by the family farm where he grew up.
Family was always a priority in Gord's life. His guidance and support has always extended to all people in his life. We will all miss his love, caring, and sense of humour.
May you Rest In Peace knowing you are missed and forever loved.
