It is with tremendous sadness we announce the passing of Gordon George Thomson, son, brother, husband, father, uncle, cousin, employer, friend.

Gord passed away June 5th, 2011, at the Chilliwack General Hospital after a month-long illness with his heart.

Gord was born November 26th, 1940 in Chilliwack, BC to George and Helen Thomson.

He will be forever missed by his loving wife Joan (Rudolph) Thomson as well as Tiana.

He loved with all his heart his children, Sheila (Shawn Norton) Dufault and Heather (Craig) Holcik, his grandchildren Chantelle Brigden, Kyle Unrau, Sarah (Jason) Black, Kaleena Unrau, Chelsea (Kyle Zasitko)Dufault, and his great-grandchildren Autym, Andon and Emma.

Also left to miss his smile, his sisters Margaret (Don) Northgraves and Marion (Allen) Rendall, and brother Charlie (Lorraine) Thomson, nieces Pat (Neil) Clark, Colleen Northgraves, Sheena Rendall, Marg (Rob) Atkinson, nephews Steven Rendall, Shane Thomson, Clarke (Beverly) Thomson, Blair (Carla) Thomson as well as all the wonderful in-laws, and extended family.

Gord was predeceased by his parents George and Helen and his best buds “Teddy” and “Tara”.

Gord was a hard working man right until the end. He started in pipelining, forestry and then found his love in the automotive industry with managing the Auto Marine Electric and then running the Husky Truck Stop with his brother Charlie until his retirement. Not even retirement could slow him down. He worked until the end at Future Shop selling appliances which he enjoyed especially with his gift of gab.

A man of strength, dignity, Scottish pride and respect for others, he enjoyed his travelling with Joan and their 4 legged kids. Either off to gamble in the states, or off to relax at Pavillion he was always so happy to get away.

The family would like to thank the Royal Columbian Hospital for their tender care, Dr. Sun, Chilliwack General Hospital, and the family and neighbours for all you have done for us.

There will be a Celebration of Life at Camp River Hall, 50246 Camp River Road Chilliwack from 2 until 5 June 26th. Open mike to share thoughts and stories.
