Glenn Lomond Toop passed away peacefully at his residence in Chilliwack, in his 99th year.
He was born in Chilliwack on June 30, 1907 the fourth of eight children born to John H. and Edith (Nelmes) Toop, who were also born in Chilliwack.
Glenn is survived by his companion of 30 years, Adela Andrew and her family, by two sons Allan (Kay) Toop of Chilliwack and Garry (Carol) of Hope, sister in law Edith Toop of Chilliwack, 4 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren &1 great great grandchild.
He was predeceased by two sisters Dora May Toop and Lenore Nixon, five brothers Ellwood, Gordon, Jack, Alvin and Ronald, and two grandchildren David Toop in 1994 and Leanne Rudolph in 2005.
Glenn was an avid fisherman who enjoyed the farm, his garden, and playing crib.
We will all miss his great sense of humor and his many “behind the scenes” stories of local historical events. He had a unique ability to see the inner needs of people and reach out to them with compassion and understanding.
At his request, no service will be held.
