Gerald F. Martin of Chilliwack passed away on Sunday, December 6, 2009, at Cascade Lodge at the age of 89 years.

Gerald was a WWII Veteran proudly serving with the Royal Canadian Navy as a radio operator serving overseas.

He worked for many years in the Newspaper business in Montreal, Quebec. Gerald, his wife Margaret and son Jeff moved to BC in 1970. Over the years Gerald was a long serving member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Kiwanis, Masonic Lodge and Air Cadets proudly serving his communities. Gerald retired as a photo engraver from the Pacific Press in Vancouver in 1985 at which time made Chilliwack his new home.

Gerald (Gerry) was predeceased by his beloved wife Margaret (Peggy) in 1990. Gerald is survived by his son Jeff Martin and daughter-in-law Gillian Martin of Chilliwack, grandchildren Alexander and Cassandra of Kelowna, Bryan Jones of Vancouver and Michael Jones of Langley and great-grandchildren Kira & Tristyn Jones of Mission.
