It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Gaston Gilliard of 87 years on April 21, 2013 in Chilliwack, BC. He was a husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and great great grandfather. Gaston was born in Prudhomme, Saskatchewan where he lived and farmed with his family. Gaston was an entrepreneur of many trades. He was a firm believer in “If there’s a Will there’s a Way”; he was a great improviser. As someone once said you can tell he was a hardworking man by the size of his hands.

Gaston will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 65 years, Loretta Gilliard and his son’s and spouse’s, Edward (Lynn) Gilliard, Maurice (Karen) Gilliard, Philip (Lisa) Gilliard and Gordon (Susan) Gilliard and his daughter’s and spouse’s Yvonne (Lea) Mack, Jean (Jim) Velyan, Elaine (Neil) MacPhail, Peggy (Garry) Corbett, Colette (Alain) Epp and step daughter Lynn (Jack) Metcalfe; 23 grandchildren and many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. He was sadly predeceased by his son Charles Gilliard, parents Emil and Hortense Gilliard and his 9 siblings.

Many thanks to Dr. Cameron Ross for his care and compassion as well as the nurses and care aides on the 4th Floor South at the Chilliwack Hospital. Our family is very grateful that you were all by our sides throughout this ordeal.
