Frederick Edward TUNBRIDGE

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Frederick Tunbridge at age 79. Fred passed away peacefully after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease.

Fred was born in Mission, BC and had lived in Chilliwack for the past 56 years. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Ruth of 58 years, his son Mark, daughter Tara (John) Lejeune and his grandchildren Connor, Hayden and Makena who were his pride and joy. Also his brothers Victor, Bill (Valerie) and sisters Joy Crowley and Merrilynne (Martin) Kenney.

Fred was a BC Land Surveyor (1952-1995), Alderman (1970 – 1985), Chilliwack Citizen of the Year (1987) and Rotarian for many years. He was a member of the Holeinthewall Recreations and Ducks Unlimited. His pastimes included hunting, fishing, golfing, bowling and playing crib.

A memorial service will be held to celebrate Fred’s life on Friday, November 30 2007 at 11:00 am at Henderson’s Funeral Home. Major Angus Haggarty officiating. Interment for family to follow.
