It is with heavy hearts and sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Floyd Leclair on Saturday May 8th 2021, at the age of 90, with his wife by his side, at the Chilliwack General Hospital.
Floyd is survived by his loving wife Margaret (Maggie), sons Dan (Irene), Marc (Pat), Rick (Pauline), daughters Denise (Mike) and Julie. Predeceased by his parents Celine and Wilfred Leclair and his brother Gilles.
He will be missed by many including his brothers Marcel (Lillian), and Bob (Pat), sisters Monique (Larry-deceased), and Louise (Joe), sister in laws Genny (Gilles-Deceased) and Cathie (Allan), and AuntRita. Floyd was also blessed with many cherished grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Floyd Leclair was born in Aylmer, Quebec in 1931 and moved to Hamilton in 1947. He began as a stone mason and carpenter. Floyd started a distinguished building career with multi residential projects in the Hamilton area. Floyd also worked and managed many projects throughout Ontario.
Eventually, he landed in Whistler, British Columbia with his wife Maggie and played a significant role in the building of the beautiful community of Whistler.
In his retirement, Floyd dedicated his time in the parishes of St. Anthony in Agassiz and St. Mary's in Chilliwack and the Hope Catholic Church, where he was involved in renovating and building furnishings for the Churches. He was an expert craftsman and his talent was reflected in all his gifts of exquisite wood creations throughout his life.
Floyd will be greatly missed by all his family and friends. His family would like to thank Dr. Ian Kishi and the Chilliwack General Hospital, for all their excellent care and thoughtfulness.
