Elizabeth Schroeder (nee: Hiebert) was born in Waldheim, Saskatchewan as the last of eight children to Gerhard and Maria Hiebert on May 18,1945.Â She committed her life to Christ in her early childhood, and was baptized in 1963.Â “Liz” received her Licensed Practical Nursing registration in Saskatchewan.Â She moved to B.C., in 1964, where she attended Bethel Bible Institute and found her husband, Bruno. During her 40 years of marriage, the family lived in Abbotsford, B.C., Brownvale, A.B., Cranbrook, B.C. and Chilliwack, B.C.Â She worked hard through these years in various hospital positions. After a courageous fight against pancreatic cancer, she passed into God’s glory on October 20, 2006 at M.S.A. Hospital under the loving care of the many nurses she had worked with over the years. Her life leaves a legacy of loving God with praise and thanksgiving. Her passing leaves great sorrow for her family and friends who cherished her strength, encouragement, and faithful prayers.Â
She leaves behind her loving husband Bruno; children, Sharon (husband David Hooge and family), Charlotte (husband Mark DeBruyn and family), and Paul; her siblings Abe (Anne) Hiebert, John (Lena) Hiebert, Mary (Frank) Derksen, Anne (John) Neufeld, Henry (Marianne) Hiebert, and Sarah Hiebert.Â Predeceased by George (Irene) Hiebert.
A memorial service will be held on October 27, 2006, 2pm at Central Community Church in Chilliwack, B.C.Â
