Elizabeth Carol (Marcellin) FEDRAU

January 12, 2006

Elizabeth, late of the Menno Home, went to be with her Lord on January 12, 2006 at the age of 105. She was born on January 6, 1901 in Krasakov, New Samara, USSR, daughter of Gerhard and Justina Fast. In 1921 she was married to Wilhelm Fedrau. They had one son, William. In 1926 they immigrated to Canada, settling on a farm in southern Manitoba near Brandon. In 1947, they sold their farm and moved to Sardis, BC where they bought a dairy farm on Lickman Rd. They were active members of the Greendale MB Church. In 1957, they retired from farming, first living on acreage beside the dairy farm and then in 1963 moving to Clearbrook. Here she spent her retirement years singing in the church choir at King Road MB as well as being custodian there together with her husband. She also enjoyed gardening and doing some traveling. After Wilhelm passed away in 1982, music, poetry, and sewing were favorite pastimes for her. In 1991 she moved to the Menno Home. She had a great love for her family and enjoyed nothing more than visits from them. She is survived by son Bill (Susan); grand-children Richard (Mary), Sylvia (Greg) Janzen, Wes (Margaret), and Stan (Michelle); 10 great grandchildren; and 2 great great-grandchildren.
