July 18, 1941- June 3, 2011
It is with great sadness to announce the passing of Eleonore Hildegard Witthinrich on June 3, 2011 at Cascade Hospice in Chilliwack, B.C. with her daughter by her side.
Born on July 18, 1941 in Fernheim, Paraguay. She was 7th of 11 children. When mom was 13 yars old, she and most of her family immigrated to Canada in 1954. They settled in Vancouver, B.C.
She started working at a young age to help support the family in their new life here in Canada. Mom was a vibrant, beautiful and hard working woman. She met, and then later married Kay on Nov. 21, 1964. They started their married life in Merritt, B.C. In 1965 they had their only child Karin. A few months later they moved to Chilliwack in 1966.
Later on in her life, Eleonore became a resident at Mountain View Home. The staff and other residents became part of her family. Even through mom’s life struggles, she always had a great sense of humour. She will be sadly missed by all that knew her.
Survived by her daughter Karin (Garry) Oesch, grandchildren Justin, Kyle and Brandon Oesch.
Sisters Erna Wall, Annie (Jurgen) Schonwetter, Kaethe Bartel, Gerda Stein, Edith (Bob) Palinko sister-in-law Herta Isaak and brother Willy (Darlene) Isaak, brother-in-law John Siebert, Hank Heetebrij and numerous nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her parents Abram and Maria Isaak, sisters Maria (Mika) Siebert, Margita Heetebrij, sister-in-law Lise Isaak, brothers Hans (John) and Abe Isaak, brothers-in-law Peter Wall, Helmet Bartel and Wilfred Stein. Niece Elfrieda Arndt, Gudrun Isaak, nephews Rudy and Siegfried Isaak.
Special thanks to everybody at Mountain View Home, the nurses at Cascade Hospice and Dr. Bakker and Dr. Bale.
