July 17, 1939 - September 15, 2022
Fay was born July 17, 1939 in Chilliwack to Wes & Irene Goheen. She already had an older brother Merv (Donna) and older sister Marilyn (Bill) and later on brother Bill (Diane) joined the family. Fay's father worked for the railroad which entailed the family to live in many small towns over the years.
While living in Spences Bridge, Fay met John Holcik who at that time was working for the CN Railway. They married in May of 1959 and continued to live there until 1965 when they decided to move to Chilliwack so John could take over the family dairy farm. They spent the first nine years living in town on Wellington Avenue.
John drove to and from the farm while Fay took excellent care of their home and their 4 children Tim, Brent (Carla), Craig (Heather) and Diana (Rob).
In 1974 the family moved onto the farm where she and John lived until their retirement from farming in 1996.
She continued to keep busy tending to their new home as well as supporting son Tim including bowing with the Opportunity Workshop for 23 years, as well as driving to and from many other activities he was involved in.
She also enjoyed having coffee with friends and she always looked forward to visits from her grandchildren Tyler (Jenna), Trevor (Madison), Owen (Kaitlyn), and Morgan as they were her greatest joy. This only increased with the great-grandchildren, Evander, Austen, Ford and Abby.
The past few years however were difficult for Fay and her family. Following the passing of John in 2019 and the beginning of Covid in 2020, dementia had really began to take over her.
Once the Covid restrictions were lifted, sadly she didn't know anyone anymore, was confined to a wheelchair and could not enjoy all the things that use to brighten her day.
We sincerely would like to thank all the staff at The Waverly who took excellent care of her in her last most difficult years. In the end the family was able to sit with her and say our goodbyes. Fay passed quietly with her loving daughter by her side. We are thankful she at last is resting peacefully. No funeral as requested.
