Sadly we announce the passing of Bob Okamoto of Garrison Crossing, Chilliwack BC, age 76 at the Abbotsford Hospital on September 19, 2020.
He is survived by his beloved wife Shirley Shea Okamoto, daughters Dawn (Darren Tessier), granddaughters Marie and Natalie, daughter Kristal (Krista Martin), stepdaughter Tarja Shea Baerg, grandsons Liam and Nolan, stepson Gerad Shea (Katrina), grandsons Evan and Ryan, and stepson Jason Shea (Wendy), grandchildren Jasper and Amélie. Bob was predeceased in death by first wife Anne Okamoto.
Bob was a gentle honorable man with a twinkle in his eye that gave him an advantage with his hidden fiercely competitive nature. He was so adored by all.
An expert golfer winning many competitions and a member of Greenacres Golf in Richmond. He volunteered with Canadian Power and Sail Squadrons, a member of ABC Boating (USPS) and a member of Vedder Legion where Friday night dancing was a highlight of the week. He maintained his season's pass at Whistler Mtn.
He was an avid fishermen and well versed in nature and like many loved the Vedder River Trail.
Bob was born in Greenwood, BC and teen years in Christina Lake and Grand Forks. The son of Fusayo Otani and Hideo Okamoto who were Vancouver Japanese interned in Greenwood.

Bob, you made this world a better place and we will work hard to carry on your legacy of honesty and integrity. Our hearts are broken.
