Donald George Richard Egginton. January 25, 1937 - October 12, 2013. Donald George Richard Egginton passed away peacefully at Chilliwack General Hospital with his family at his bedside. Don is survived by his wife, Dawne, of 48 years; daughter Laura (Ted); sister Joan and nephew Greg (Darlene) and a great niece and great nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents George and Emma Egginton and brother in law Paul Schwartz and his very special friend Rocky. He worked for Burrard Dry Dock until it closed down and then went to Vancouver Shipyards as a marine electrician. Upon retirement he set up his own Mr. Fix It business to help seniors with home projects. He loved the great outdoors. He was a member of the Burnaby Fish and Game club for many years, he was the president of the North Shore Skeet Club until it was forced to close; life time member of the Vancouver Gun Club and was a member of the Chilliwack Fish & Game Club. Don had a real love for hunting and fishing- he loved the Cariboo and spent every fall, hunting with his dad and then his family for grouse and waterfowl. He loved to build model airplanes and fly them - in later years he seemed to enjoy just building them, his latest plane is a B45 Mitchell Bomber with a wingspan of 6 feet. He also had a love for photography. Don was very generous, kind and thoughtful, and willing to help any injured animal he could.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2013 at 1:30 pm from Henderson's Funeral Home, 45901 Victoria Ave, Chilliwack. A reception will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hope For Wildlife Society, 5909 Hwy 207, Seaforth, Nova Scotia, B0J 1N0 or to any other wildlife rehabilitation centre of your chosing.
