June 8, 2018
Donald Bridgeman Erho passed away June 8, 2018 after a long and full life.

Born in 1934 to John and Alma (Bailey) Erho, Don lived most of his life in Columbia Valley.  In true Family tradition, he worked in the logging industry as a faller. He married Anna in 1957 and they lived in the house Don built on Erho Road where they welcomed 4 children.

In 1965, Don became an electrician and moved the family to North Van where he specialized in industrial and commercial electrical work. With their 4 kids grown, Don and Anna moved back to Columbia Valley, and Don joined the faculty in BCIT's electrical trade program until his retirement.

Don was very committed to his community and was involved with the construction and maintenance of the Columbia Valley Community Hall. He was a member of the ratepayers' executive for many years and a volunteer fireman until his retirement. He was always active, helping his neighbours with their hay and firewood, growing and selling raspberries and blueberries, and in his eighties took up logging again, this time on the family homestead.

He leaves behind his wife of 61 years Anna, brother Del (Peggy), children; Heather (Bill), Leslie, Valerie (Colin) and Barbara (Mike). He was very proud of his grandchildren; Eden (Mike), Jehanna (Ben), Bailey (Eric), Moriah (Greg), Dawson, Daniel, Malcolm and Marcy and great grandchildren Walter and Anna.

A gathering to celebrate Don's life will be held July 14, 2018 at 2 pm, at the Columbia Valley Community Hall.

In lieu of flowers, a bursary for students of the trades will be established in Don's name and can be made to the University of the Fraser Valley, attention the Advancement Office.  http://connect.ufv.ca/giving/donate
