Don passed away at Valleyhaven Care Home in Chilliwack, BC, just before midnight on Sept. 10, 2011. Born and raised in Carman, Alberta, Don served in the US Military during the 1960’s and worked for CDN/Skeena Cellulose in Prince Rupert, BC, before taking an early retirement following a severe stroke.
Don was predeceased by his father, Daniel G. Saunders and his mother, Lucy Irene (Wood) Saunders of Carman, MB. Don is survived by his sister Bonnie Irene (Wes) Maitland; nieces Monica (Shaun) Howell and Heather (Tom) Abele; plus several Wood and Saunders cousins.
Interment will take place in the Wood - Saunders family plot in Carman, Alberta, later this month.
