Diane Joiner (nee Bishop)

January 29, 1945 - May 6, 2024

After a brave battle with lung cancer, Diane passed away peacefully at home on the morning of May 6th. She was 79.

Diane will be deeply missed by her son, Neil (Jess); daughter, Debbie Frose (Rob); grandchildren: Aly, Chelsea, and Holden Frose, Alara Joiner and Jess' children, Mikayla (her son Ryker), Hayden and Jordan Epp; brother, Doug Bishop (Meredith); sister, Debbie Stevenson (Ken); brother-in-law Lawrence Joiner (Joan); and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband Gywn Joiner (2012); her parents Al and Ethel Bishop; father and mother-in-law Charlie and Amy Joiner; brother and sister-in-law Ethel and Keith Massie.

Diane was born on January 29th, 1945, in Vancouver, BC. Diane grew up in their family home on East 16th Ave. Diane spent her summers in Chilliwack on her uncle's dairy farm. She met and married her husband (1973) and moved to Chilliwack where they farmed and raised their family, eventually retiring in 2008.

She was actively involved in her children's, and later her grandkid's, extra curricular events and could often be found supporting and cheering them on or volunteering for the organization. This was in addition to being a 4-H leader for over 15 years.

Diane committed her life to the Lord and in 2018 was baptized while on a missions trip in Mexico alongside her granddaughters Aly and Chelsea.

Diane loved to travel all over the world, including many trips each winter with her sister to visit their brother in Palm Springs. After the passing of Gwyn in 2012, Diane purchased her own place down south and would winter there every year, up until this year when she was unable to make the trip due to her failing health.

Family and friends were very important to Diane and you could often find extra guests at her dining room table for holiday meals.

The family would like to express their utmost thanks to her friend and neighbour Terri for all the love and support over the years, but especially over this last year.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday May 31st, 2024 at 2:00 pm at River of Life Church in Greendale. All are welcome. In lieu of flowers, if you are so inclined, donations to Hungry for Life, Ruth and Naomi's or 4-H British Columbia in Diane's name would be much appreciated.
