Daniel Walter Montgomery passed away on Sunday, June 23, 2002 in Sardis, at the age of 69 years. He is survived by his loving mother Mary Crosby of Duncan; his wife Kay of Sardis; daughters, Lynda and Louise, and their partners, Christa and Marty; and a step-granddaughter, Danielle Cox, all from Long Beach, CA.
Danny was born July 2, 1932 in Powell River. He was raised there and worked briefly on tugboats and in the Powell River Mill. In 1949 he joined the RCAF, taking discharge in 1970. He returned to B.C. where he worked as a Deputy Sheriff until his retirement from Cranbrook in 1988. Dan was a lover of nature and animals. He will be missed by all who were lucky enough to have known him.
A Memorial Tea was held at his home on Thursday, June 27, 2002. Heartfelt thanks to everyone who helped Dan during his illness, especially Dr. MacKenzie and Dr. Richmond.
