(1936-2024) ~ Bob Friesen, 86, of Rush Lake, Sask., passed away on February 22, 2024, in Chilliwack, B.C. Bob dedicated his life to hard work and family.

Bob started his career in construction in Kemano at the age of 15 to support his family. He transitioned to logging on Vancouver Island until an accident at 25 led to a year long rehabilitation. Undeterred, he trained as a crane operator, delivering trusses, and later worked at Seaspan loading barges. Even after retirement, Bob continued to work part time delivering dairy products for Saputo.

In 1979, Bob married the love of his life, Valerie, and they enjoyed 44 wonderful years together in their home on Caryks Road. They enjoyed hosting large family gatherings and RVing with friends. Bob was a dedicated husband and family man.

Bob is survived by his beloved wife, Valerie, and stepson Frank/Jan. He also leaves five brothers, Stan/Sheila, Peter/Jan, Al/Darlene, Wayne/Lyde, Wilf/Laura, two sisters, Carol and Jacquie as well as a large extended family of 83 nieces and nephews spanning three generations.

Bob was predeceased by his step daughter Darcia and his brother Dale.

A celebration of Bob's life will be held on Saturday March 23, 2024, from 2-4pm in the Selkirk Room at Elim Village 45418 Chehalis Drive, Garrison Crossing B.C. Bob will be remembered for his hard work, dedication to family, and love for life.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
