It is with great earthly sadness that we announce that Christine (Chris), 58 years, of Chilliwack passed into the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on June 6, 2018 of cancer at Cascade Hospice.
Chris had many interests that included her love of playing tennis, gardening, hiking, fitness, camping, hospitality, volunteering and decorating. Of primary importance was spending time with her family and grandchildren as well as regular activities with friends. She was known by her generosity and had an ability to offer valuable input into the lives of her friends and family.
She treasured her child raising years and put everything into her role as full-time homemaker. Chris was also an active learner and throughout her life acquired many new skills. Her scrap booking and video editing of the early years are examples of treasured items left behind as keepsakes for her children.
During the last 6 months of her life, with health failing, Chris was committed to learn and make quilts for her 5 grandchildren. She completed four, but not quite the fifth. Her daughter will complete the last one.
Her day was not complete unless it included study from several Bibles that were full of her notes and underlining. Chris was especially committed to living out her faith as an encouragement to others over the last year of her life. She viewed her cancer as a special opportunity to demonstrate this.
Chris was predeceased by her sister Debbie. She is survived by her loving husband and best friend Steve, sister Terry (Bernt), brother Steve, daughters Capri (Mike) & Andrea (Jeremy), grand-daughters Ava, Gemma, Mila, Mackie, & Emery plus in-laws Dave & Mary, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Service of Remembrance will be held on Wednesday, June 27, 2018, 2:00 pm at Sardis Community Church at 45625 South Sumas Road, Chilliwack, V2R 4M7.
