July 21, 1924 - March 16, 2024

It is with much sorrow that we announce the passing of Bernice Sterling (nee Tighe) in Valleyhaven, Chilliwack on March 16, 2024, just four months short of her 100th birthday.

Affectionately known as 'Bunny' all her life, she was born July 21, 1924, in Didsbury, Alberta., She married a young sailor, Douglas Sterling, in 1942, and they had three sons, Ken, Mark and Barry. She was a loving, attentive and caring mother.

Bunny and Doug were quite artistic and passed on their talents to all three sons. Although they divorced, Bunny weathered all her adversities without complaints.

She loved to dance and in later life she traveled a lot in Canada and the USA. She was an active and involved member of the Chilliwack Ladies Auxiliary, Chilliwack Legion Branch 4.

Bunny was predeceased by ex-husband Doug, eldest son Kenneth and her older sister Alice Ramm. Also her longtime companion Bob Riddle.

She is survived by her sons Mark, Falkland, BC, Barry (Noreen), Fanny Bay, BC, daughter-in- law Lynne Sterling, Surrey, seven grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, her remaining sister Jessie Scott and many extended family members.

Her sons appreciate cousin Wendy's many years of helping their Mom in many ways. The family extends sincere gratitude to Drs. Bright and Donnelly, staffs at Cascade Assisted Living, Chilliwack General Hospital, Bradley Centre, and Valleyhaven for their loving care over the past few years.

By Bunny's request there will be no services.

She will be lovingly remembered.
