Bernie hailed from Dartmouth, Nova Scotia where in his early years he left for adventures on the high seas. Which would later take him to serve in the Korean War. Shortly after his return from Korea he met his wife Pearl of Chilliwack. They married in 1953 settled and raised a family. Bernie became a plumber by trade, worked at Fraser Vale as well as York Farms and later at CFB Chilliwack as the plumbing forman which he retired from after 29 years of loyal service. Bernie was also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Knights of Columbus and the Korean War Vets Association. Bernie was a loving husband, amazing father and a proud grandfather.
