Gagne; Antoine (Tony) Raynald

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Antoine (Tony) Raynald Gagne. Tony went to his Father in Heaven on September 30, 2014 at the Chilliwack General Hospital at the age of 57. Now at rest from a battle with cancer, he is lovingly remembered by his wife of 8 years, Carol Gagne, daughter Jennifer Gagne, son Michael Gagne (Lisa Hogan), stepsons Michael Smith (Ashley Guertin) and Andrew Smith (Sherylynn), and granddaughters Aleah Gagne and Kiuana Gauthier. He will also be dearly missed by his 6 siblings Harrison Garner, Gay Schosser, Helaine Cooper, Drew Eagen, Suzie Joshi and Joseph Gagne. Tony was predeceased by his parents Henry and Joyce Gagne.

Tony was born in Quebec City on June 11, 1957 and was the youngest of 7 children. He grew up in Edmonston, New Brunswick and later moved to BC where he spent the remainder of his life.

In 1978, Tony began his career as a Correctional Officer at the BC Penitentiary. He spent 35 years working for the Correctional Service of Canada in various positions. During this time, he formed countless lifelong friendships and was afforded many opportunities for career advancement which he greatly appreciated. Tony had a caring heart and a great sense of humour. You will never meet a more humble, nurturing and loving person as Tony. He was a wonderful father, grandfather, brother, uncle, friend and husband. A Celebration of Life was held on Monday, October 6, 2014 at 3:00pm at Main Street, Church, 9325 Main St. in Chilliwack, BC.
