JESPERSON, Allen


It is with sadness that the family of Allen Jesperson announce his passing on June 30, 2016 at the age of 85. Allen was born in Piapot, SK on September 16, 1930 to Art & Florence Jesperson (Unsworth). At the age of 7, the family moved to Sardis while his father Arthur established Signal Gasoline. In 1941 the family moved to Chilliwack, and established A. Jesperson & Sons on Main St. This is where Allen learned the trade of blacksmithing. Allen later started City Welding Machine Shop. Allen and his friend Mike Gummeson began Fraser Valley Tire, 1960 - 1972. Later he established Jesperson's Brake & Muffler. In November of 1951 he married the love of his life Ann Feniak. They were married for over 64 years and had 5 children. Allen was survived by his wife Ann Jesperson, children Sandra Jesperson (Bob Fritchey), Sherry Enns (Perry), Brenda Rintisch (Ralph), Allen Jesperson (Donna) and Barbara Funk (Rick). They have 9 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. He had two surviving brothers: Arthur (Russ) (Doreen) and Ivan (Mollie). He was predeceased by parents: Arthur & Florence Jesperson, sisters: Evelyn Zajic, Francis Keillor, and his brother Les Jesperson. Allen had a long history of Masonic involvement as well as participated within the Shrine. He was also a founding member of the Chilliwack Flying Club and a member of the BC Rifle Association. Service of Memorial will be held at the Masonic Hall on Hocking Ave. on July 12, 2016 at 1: 00 pm.
